The Eagle Rock Canyon Trail

eagle rock hiking trail photo

The last remaining open space in the Eagle Rock area was acquired for public enjoyment by the Eagle Rock Beautification Collective in 2007. A stunning, looping one-mile trail was completed over several months by a group of volunteers, along with the help of Boy-scout Troop 188, under the guidance of Master Trail Builder Peter Schaller.

It was opened in March 2008. Currently, the trail is being maintained by Mr. Harry Chamberlain and Mr. Trever Jones. It is open for hiking and offers an impressive display of some of Southern California’s great natives, including oak trees, many flowering shrubs, fragrant vines and grasses, in a magnificent setting with vistas that stretch all the way to the ocean and surrounding mountains.

The Eagle Rock is visible from the top of the trail, where a Memorial Botanical and Succulent Garden is currently under construction to honor the memory of CERB's long time friend and board member, Darryl Medeen.

Please note that the hiking trail is narrow and hikers are urged to use caution. Hike at your own risk.
